Igniting Positive Transformation

Self-inquiry is the capacity to expose unexamined beliefs, thoughts, and stories that create unnecessary suffering for ourselves. Self-inquiry reveals the eternal truth of who you are. Getting to your truth can be a wonderful adventure. All you need to do to get started is to be curious, curious about you!

Have you been trying to make a change in your life but can't seem to break out of the rut of habitual behavior?

Perfect.

Get curious.

Create a bridge between your conscious self and your higher self.

When was the last time you communicated with your subconscious mind?

When was the last time you communicated with your spirit or soul?

It is important to communicate with both to hear the messages and determine if they are in alignment.

Life can be extremely demanding, chaotic and fast paced. Moving at break neck speed without pausing creates white noise within our selves, white noise that is masking our internal voice.

The voice of our spirits is even more subtle than the voice of the subconscious mind. Our spirits speak to us with an internal loving voice. If the white noise of hustling and making up for lost time is loud, we miss the whispers and more subtle messages from the true self or spirit,  the self buried beneath the bustling and very chatty conscious mind.

Let's take this pause together.

Get comfortable. Scan your body and use your breath to release tension.

  • Inhale to a count of four,
  • savor your breath,
  • fill your belly with your breath, and
  • exhale to a count of six,
  • drawing your navel to your spine and
  • completely emptying your body of breath, stress, and anything that does not serve you in being present in this moment.

Do this three or four times and first notice and then feel the difference in your internal landscape. Take a sip of this peace with your next breath.

Take Time To Notice

Look around the room you are in and try to notice 2 or three things you have never noticed or appreciated before. This escorts you mindfully into the present moment.

Now, I want you to listen...really actively listen ...

listen as if you just heard footsteps in your home and you are listening, not in a scared way, but really listening in an inquiring way, listening for more information.

You may have seen a dog or cat look around this way after hearing footsteps. Bring all of your senses in and listen.

Open the door to your imagination.

Research consistently shows the power imagination plays in shaping the brain and body, as imagined events trigger biochemical, physiological and emotional responses that are identical to those that are real – it’s more than daydreaming! This means that visualization, once disregarded as a pseudoscience, has now been shown to be a viable intervention for shaping our experience.

Pause and inquire.

What am I thinking right now?

What am I feeling right now?

What am I sensing right now?

Am I available to listen with both my inner and out senses?

Invite Your Imagination Into the Conversation With Your Sub-conscious and Your Spirit

Invite your imagination into this conversation with your subconscious self and with your spirit, higher self or inner voice. Be meticulously aware. This awareness is a necessity for living optimally.

Both your spirit and your subconscious mind communicate differently from your conscious mind.

They don't throw out words in a diatribe like your conscious mind does. To the contrary. Our subconscious minds and inner selves or spirits speak to us with images and metaphors and even feelings. The dialogue is a kind of visualization. For communication to occur with your subconscious mind as well as when communicating with your spirit, you must listen with your inner ears and inner vision. Listen for the story.  When you ask questions of the spirit and when you ask questions of the subconscious self, listen carefully for the many ways a response may appear. Listen with your inner vision.

Once you hear or see the answers you seek there is one more small step.

You must inquire as to whether this answer is from your spirit or highest self or just the subconscious mind regurgitating a narrative to keep things running while your conscious mind is busy. Is the information ego based and designed to keep you in control and far from risk?

The subconscious mind can get stuck retelling a story, again and again with the same ending each time.  The story we hear again and again is our default narrative. It is not the voice of our soul or spirit.

Is this my subconscious mind speaking in fear based patterns or is this the voice of my spirit?

  • Is what you are hearing as you make your inner inquiry the default narrative the subconscious mind plays over and over when you aren't really paying attention?
  • Is this dialogue a pattern of your subconscious mind that jumps into action to fill the space in order to prevent fear or uncertainty from jumping in?
  • Or does the message contain an element of creativity and a sense of being offered fresh? Do you feel love hearing the words or even inner joy or laughter?
  • Does this information sound familiar and is it usually communicated in a similar way, a similar pattern?
  • Does the message serve you or does it serve the dictates of family, community, or society?
  • If it is a message in service to yourself, how does it serve you?
  • Does it relate to a purpose you still want to fulfill or is it a purpose from last year or the last decade?
  • Does it keep you running or does it call you to pause and assess?

If you have reached your spirit, allow your subconscious mind to bathe in its wisdom. Allow it to learn something new from your spirit. When you give your spirit a voice and an opportunity to be heard, you will experience something new or fresh or inspiring or tied to your deepest values.

What it would look and feel like to make a choice that  rings true for your spirit and fits who you are now and contributes to your highest good?

You are hard-wired to be self-connected.  You need only open the inner door to access the creative  spirit or true self within you. Self-connection is a game changer. To find out more about how I can help you make this essential connection, read more here.
